C++ Linux Developer

The ideal candidate for this position is fluent in the C/C++ programming language with experience in targeting to an embedded product using a small footprint Linux operating system. Demonstrated development experience in an embedded real-time position is vital and to a lesser extent is protocol development since work is predominantly concentrated these areas. Candidates may be requested to submit code samples and documentation for review.

Key Position Requirements:

  • Review application requirements and designs to provide feedback and development estimates.
  • Deliver high quality code in accordance with the design and best unit testing practices.
  • Conduct the necessary testing and code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot existing processes to solve performance and logic bugs.
  • Participate in the creation of design documentation and present the designs to other project members.
  • Provide technical analysis and feedback to management team on proposed enhancements and problems.
  • Develop tools used to assist in testing, monitoring or maintaining production, test and development environments.

Must Have:

  • 2 years of professional experience using C/C++ for software development.
  • Experience working in mission critical, high security, high availability environments.
  • Shell scripting experience.
  • Well developed analytical, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and consultative skills.
  • Administration experience with Linux or UNIX based network.
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent plus pertinent experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment.

The following will also be considered assets:

  • Linux driver/handler experience
  • Understanding of network applications or related protocols: Ethernet (TCP/IP), SNMP, X11, FTP, HTTP, Samba
  • Development Experience in Java, SQL, PL/SQL.
  • Cisco certification.
  • KDE, Kdevelop, QT
  • Testing experience
  • Documentation experience
