Gaming Probability Mathematician

The ideal candidate for this position will perform mathematical duties and activities for the Software Development Department at Techlink Entertainment as assigned by the Game Development Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Game Mathematician:

• Perform mathematical duties according to Techlink Entertainment Game Design and Development processes.
• Prepare mathematical proofs for perfect play strategies, game outcome simulations, game outcome proofs, volatility graphs, game hit rates, etc. as assigned by the Game Development Manager.
• Take direction and work package assignments from a senior project team member.
• Ensure that time spent on a project is recorded as required by company procedure and that potential over runs are reported.
• Provide scheduled reports to the Game Development Manager.
• Communicate and work with other departments within your discipline when required.
• Continually maintain knowledge of the industry trends within your discipline.
• Provide documentation content to the technical communications person as required.
• Ability to translate mathematical model game play information.
• Creativity for new ideas and a willingness to tackle non-traditional mathematical problems.
• Ensure that work is performed in accordance with all company procedures and processes.

Qualifications:

• Must have the ability to meet company goals and objectives with minimal supervision.
• Must have good organizational and problem solving skills.
• Be an effective communicator, both written and oral.
• A team player

Work Environment:

• Works in a physically comfortable environment.

Education and Experience:

• Have a degree in Mathematics/Computer Science or 3 years equivalent experience.
• Have experience in probability computations.
